MoJo Art Group

We began as a small group of friends meeting in the Dauncey and Wakefield sitting rooms to paint portraits of local people. Over the years we have grown to around 17 members and no longer restrict ourselves to portraits. It became obvious that we would have to take the village hall for an afternoon every fortnight and this is what we now do. We meet fortnightly on Wednesday afternoons and have a portrait session one week and two weeks later a still life. In good summer weather we go out and paint plein-air. We have a rota so that we all take our turn at setting up.

If you would like to have a go please come along and see how you get on, you will be made very welcome.

Wednesday afternoons every fortnight

Singing Allsorts

The Singing Allsorts is a friendly group of mainly Uley folk formed by people who like to sing. We have more than 40 members and available singers get together on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00pm in the Village Hall. We work towards producing two concerts a year – in the summer and at Christmas. With help from Barclays Bank we have raised over £26,000 for various charities. If you are interested in joining our choir please contact Hilary Weeks 860539 (Secretary) or a known member of the choir. Subs of £10 are payable every six weeks. Auditions are not necessary nor do you need to read music, just a love of singing and commitment to learn a few four part arrangements with the guidance of our talented young leader, Asha McCarthy.

Tuesday evenings 7.30pm to 9pm

Uley & Tabard Players

The Uley & Tabard Players is an amateur dramatics group based in Uley, welcoming members and audiences from Uley, Dursley and surrounding districts. The group was formed in early 2017 by the uniting of the Uley Players based in Uley and The Tabard Players based at the Tabernacle Church in Dursley. When The Tabard Players lost their venue at the Tabernacle, they amalgamated with the Uley Players to form a new group now called Uley & Tabard Players. We provide entertainment and sociable functions, putting on plays, pantomimes and variety shows. We like to donate part of our profits from these productions to local charities.

You can also follow us on Facebook.

We are a lively, friendly group of varying ages, who above all, like to have a good time. We are always eager to welcome new members, not only to perform on stage but also in the many roles off-stage that support our shows.
